Hello everyone,
I just wanted to share my solution for dealing with the boredom that can come from playing the same maps and two game types that we have been stuck with for anywhere from 1-8 months depending on when you got into the game. I am sure several people who have been playing for a while have already done some of these things, but if you haven't feel free to try it out and see if it improves your time spent in game.
Many people start the game, mess around with a few things, find something they like doing and then focus solely on improving that one area. I, like many other people, started playing the game as your standard run and gun AR user. Some of the other weapons seemed foreign (Swarm Launcher back in June when there was no tip telling you what to do with it) and setting up a good fit with some of the other weapons just seemed like something that would keep me out of the action. So I played assault, and only assault, for a good 4ish months. Next came the daily cap, which only caused me to log in every day, and play the same style, day after day. Things got a little bland. I enjoyed the game, but I didn't feel any of the possible depth the game had to offer. I dabbled in a few other playstyles, but always fell back to my good ol' AR and assault suit.
Eventually I got tired of dying to the various things that annoy people e.g. anything other than their preferred playstyle, so I decided to go ahead and give those other things a try. I did it on a whim but it has vastly improved my appreciation for my time spent in game and the abilities of certain things in good players hands. If you haven't done this, go ahead and make some cheap militia fits of various playstyles. Go ahead and make a scout shotgun fit. Set up a cheapish militia tank to call in while you play by yourself. Spend a little bit of SP unlocking the Laser Rifle, HMG, and Mass Driver. See if those things are really as easy to use as you might feel every time they kill you. It might be frustrating at first, but you might find that there is more than one thing you like doing in the game, or you might just decide that those things that ruined your day for being EZMODE or OP really aren't as bad as you thought they were.
TL:DR
So get out and set up some new fits if you have just been playing the same way for the entire time you have been in game. Step out of your comfort zone and you might find something you really like. |
